Alternative medicine has become popular among the communities than ever as more and more successful results have become known. There are many alternative medicine methods that have different origins from different parts of the world. Due to this diversity, each of these alternative medicine methods differs from one another in many ways.

Homeopathy has become one of the popular alternative medicines and offers treatments for many known deceases. Arthritis is one of the deceases that homeopathy really looks forward to cure. Let’s have a look at how homeopathy can treat arthritis.

As we are aware, there are many types of arthritis. Homeopathy attempts to treat many types of known arthritis and usually follow a similar approach for all of them. Usually, in homeopathy treatments, arthritis is recognized as decease attached to the aging of the body. Therefore, homeopathic treatments aim at stopping further damages to the bones and joints, and produce relief from the pain and stiffness.

Unlike allopathic treatments, homeopathic treatments do not offer quick results. As homeopathic treatments are focused on eliminating the cause of the decease, it takes longer to heal. If the homeopathic treatments for arthritis are applied for a long time, there will surely be a reduction of pain and stiffness. At the meantime, the conditions of the joints will also improve as this stops further damage.

There are many medications used for arthritis in homeopathy treatments. These medications are applied based on the symptoms and the condition of the joint and related area. These different medications use different materials for applying the treatment. As an example, Belladona method is used for treating joints where there is inflammation and redness in the effected joint.

There is one important consideration to remember; when homeopathic treatments are applied for arthritis, it might not be good to apply any other medicines. For some cases, a combination of medicine could be used, but most of the cases, you will need to follow what you are instructed to follow in terms of medication. If you are interested in treating arthritis using one or more methods of medicine, then you need to get correct information and instructions from qualified professionals.

I don’t think there is any scientific evidence that homeopathy can treat arthritis, is there?

Dr Peter Fisher - who is the Director of the London Homeopathic Hospital and personal homeopath to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - together with a rheumatologist called D.L. Scott conducted a trial (112 participants) on the effect of homeopathy on rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment was prescribed by Fisher “according to the normal homeopathic clinical criteria”. In spite of this, they concluded, “We found no evidence that active homeopathy improves the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis” and that “These findings contradict the positive results reported by Gibson et al,” (which was a very small trial conducted in 1980).
