Osteoarthritis, the most common form of arthritis has many impacts on your joints. For arthritis, there are number of causes including genetic defects, musculoskeletal defects, injury, overuse etc. In this short article, we try to discuss how protect your joints from issues such as injury and overuse as we may not have any control over some of the factors such as genetic defects.
The body weight is one of the key factors when it comes to your joints. If you are too heavy for your joints, then there is vulnerability for damaging your joints. That’s simply your body weight puts more stress on your joints. The most vulnerable areas are hips, knees, back and feet. The next key element is doing exercises. This helps you to strengthen the muscles around your joints so there is a less probability for injury.
A good posture protects you from joint injuries as it is the ideal positioning for your joints. You may damage neck, knees, hips and back by not adopting good posture. In your body, you have hundreds of joints and they vary from the scale. Some are smaller and weak and some are bigger and stronger. Whenever you perform something, make sure you use bigger and stronger joints as much as possible. This will reduce the damages caused for small and weak joints. When you do something stressful to your joints such as lifting weights frequently, make sure you give enough rest to yourself between work. This will reduce the risks caused by wear and tear of joints.
Whatever you do, try to change your position and posture regularly. This will reduce the stiffness of your muscles and joints and would reduce the risk of getting them hurt. And finally, when your joints are in pain, never ignore it. It is just a warning to tell you to stop stressing them and see a doctor.
